(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will hold an online conference on Saturday with the business community to discuss restarting the economy after social distancing measures are lifted.
Nguyen Quang Huan, President of the Halcom Company and Vice Chairman of Vietnam Private Business Association, said entrepreneurs and economists have great expectations of the event.
“The event is not only a source of encouragement. If both the Government and business community unite, we will find out proper solutions. Personally, I think we should look for ways to open the door. As we have been integrating into the global economy, the more slowly joint venture businesses open, the worse impacts they will suffer from,” said Huan.
He added: “Second, it’s necessary to promulgate more policies to help businesses access capital sources flexibly. In return, businesses should proactively approach other financial sources and restructure their own apparatus.”
What the business community wants is for the conference to begin with speeding up the disbursement of the promulgated aid relief packages.
Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said “Against the difficulties faced by the state budget, it’s a huge effort by the Vietnamese Government to spend a certain amount of money to support businesses. That’s why we must ensure that these policies are implemented rapidly. Second it’s necessary to expand the market both at home and abroad.”
