(VOVworld) – 16 people were killed and 80 others injured in a suicide bomb attack that took place Saturday in the Republic of Chad’s capital N’Djamena. A man dressed like a Muslim woman in a burqa blew himself up when police tried to get him at the entrance of the main market of N’Djamena. Chad has blamed Boko Haram, the Islamist militant group based in neighbouring Nigeria, for a series of bombings and shootings in recent weeks. Chad has tightened its security since it joined an alliance to fight Boko Haram with 3 other countries: Nigeria, Cameroon, and Niger, early this year. Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau has many times threatened to carry out attacks targeting Chad and other countries joining this alliance.
