Communist Party of Vietnam deserves people’s trust
(VOVWORLD) - The 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) once again validated the contributions of historical significance the Party made to international communist and workers' movements following the political changes in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe from 1989-1990, according to German historian Gerhard Feldbauer reporting in Lëtzebuerger Vollek.

He quoted Nguyen Phu Trong, who was re-elected Party General Secretary by the Congress, as saying that Vietnam is following the socialist path from being an agriculture-dependent country to being a modern industrial country that is dedicated to strengthening its cooperation with other Asian countries.
Germany’s news website Redglobe.de quoted a statement by the Party of Labor of Austria which highlighted the CPV’s history of brave struggles against colonialism and imperialism which has inspired oppressed and working class people around the world.

In an article posted Wednesday, Russian news agency Sputnik hailed the CPV’s sound leadership, calling it a key factor in the success of Vietnam’s revolutionary cause.
Sputnik also quoted Party leader and President Trong, who pointed out to the Congress that under the Party’s leadership Vietnam has risen from being an impoverished nation with poor infrastructure to being a middle-income country which has seen remarkable improvements in local livelihoods, breakthroughs in the political system, consolidated national solidarity, and growing prestige and influence in the international arena.
