(VOVworld) - France will continue to support Vietnam in responding to climate change. In a recent interview with French radio station RFI this week, Chief of the French Development Agency (AFD) in Vietnam Alix Francoise said Vietnam is one of the first countries to receive aid from AFD. The fund will focus on 2 areas of urban development: modernizing production facilities and addressing their impacts on the environment and society, and supporting Vietnam in its response to climate change. In addition to financial aid, AFD will support Vietnam in with technical issues and in planning sustainable development projects.
Within the framework of the UN Climate Change Summit in Paris, AFD introduced a number of activities it is implementing to help developing countries cope with climate change, including two projects in Da Nang and Can Tho in Vietnam.
