(VOVworld) – Defense cooperation is one of the most important areas of Vietnam-Russia relations.

Deputy Minister of Defense Senior Lieutenant General Truong Quang Khanh said at a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday for visiting first Deputy Chairman of the Russian Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly’s Committee on Defense and Security Evgeni Alleksaadrovich Serebrenniov. Khanh said Vietnam and Russia have made great progress in defense cooperation, especially in official training programs. 

Serebrenniov said the Russian Council and the Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to work together to seek consensus on bilateral defense cooperation.  He added that Russia will continue to help Vietnam train commanders and officials in science and military technology and accelerate military technology transfer.
