(VOV) - Vietnam’s GDP growth this year is likely to fall to 5.3 percent from 5.9 percent last year.
A recent Economist Intelligence Unit report said although the inflation rate is forecast to hit 8.5 percent by the end of this year, individual consumer growth will only reach 5.6 percent on average. Due to a gloomy global economy, the EIU has reduced its estimates of Vietnam’s GDP next year from 6.6 to 6 percent. The Unit predicts a healthier business climate from 2014 to 2016 will help Vietnam raise its GDP by 7% annually.
