EU announces 2 billion USD humanitarian aid budget for 2025

(VOVWORLD) - The EU on Thursday announced a humanitarian budget for 2025 of nearly 2 billion USD for more than 300 million people in need. With this package, the EU continues to be a leading global humanitarian aid donor.
 With this new package, the EU's total humanitarian aid to Gaza since 2023 surpasses 450 million euros, complemented by an airlift that has delivered over 3,800 tons of aid. (Photo: European Commission) |
According to the EU, the aid will focus on areas heavily affected by crises, including the Middle East—particularly Gaza and Syria—Ukraine, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as the Asia-Pacific region.
The European Commission said this aid will be delivered in the form of supplies, medicine, and other resources through partner humanitarian organizations such as non-governmental organizations, UN agencies, and specialized agencies in member states.
The EU on Thursday also announced an emergency aid package of 124 million USD for Gaza.
