The statement came after US President Donald Trump and European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker made a breakthrough in resolving the trade war between the two sides of the Atlantic, which began with Trump imposing tariffs on imported aluminum and steel.
The statement said the US and the EU have agreed to increase cooperation in services, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical products, and soybeans. Trump said the two sides will resolve issues related to aluminum and steel tariffs and retaliatory measures.
Juncker said the two sides have agreed to cooperate toward zero tariffs on industrial goods and strengthen cooperation in energy, under which the EU will import more liquid petroleum gas from the US.
