The assessment was shared on the sidelines of a recent seminar on science, technology, and trade cooperation between Vietnam and the European Union (EU) held in Brussels, Belgium.
Professor Geert Angenon from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) welcomed the organization of the seminar, describing it as a valuable opportunity for European and Vietnamese scientists to strengthen connections.

Professor Sarah Baatout, Deputy Director of the Belgian Nuclear Medicine Application Institute (SCK CEN), noted that Vietnam has made notable progress, particularly in nuclear medicine.
She also praised Vietnam for issuing legal regulations related to AI, describing it as an important step toward responsible application of new technologies. According to Professor Baatout, the similarity in policy orientations between Vietnam and the EU provides a favorable foundation for stronger cooperation.
