(VOVWORLD) -EU Foreign Ministers met in Brussels on Tuesday to discuss a new financial support package worth 500 million euros from the "European Peace Fund" to continue purchasing weapons to supply Ukraine.

However, the proposal was not approved due to opposition from Hungary. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that Hungary opposes Ukraine's inclusion of Hungary's largest bank, OTP, on the list of organizations financing war. It will veto the new support package until Ukraine withdraws the OTP bank from the list.
Earlier this month, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NCPA) labeled Hungary's OTP bank and several banks in France, Italy, and Greece as "sponsors of international war" with accusation of giving preferential loans to the Russian military.
