(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam highly values Saudi Arabia’s regional and global role and is ready to strengthen coordination with the country at international forums such as the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and ASEAN.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung made the remarks at a reception on Wednesday in Hanoi with outgoing Saudi Ambassador to Vietnam Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy.
Mr. Trung hailed ambassador Dahlwy’s contributions to advancing Vietnam-Saudi Arabia relations, particularly following Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visits to Saudi Arabia in 2023 and 2024.
Ambassador Dahlwy said that the King, the Crown Prince and senior leaders of Saudi Arabia value the relationship with Vietnam and want to strengthen friendship and cooperation on a sustainable basis.
He reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia supports Vietnam’s stronger ties with the GCC and will push ahead with talks to conclude a Vietnam-GCC free trade agreement soon.
