(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Saturday visited former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh to honor her contributions to national liberation and development, on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8).

PM Chinh expressed deep gratitude for her pivotal role in the country’s history, particularly as Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam and as the head of its delegation at the Paris peace talks from 1969 to 1973.
As Chairwoman of the Vietnam Kovalevskaia Prize Committee from 1985 to 2016, Madam Binh dedicated to empowering Vietnamese women in scientific research.
She expressed confidence that, under the Party’s leadership, Vietnam will continue to advance and achieve new milestones in the new era.
