The Egyptian plan suggests Hamas release five Israeli hostages each week, with Israel implementing the second phase of the ceasefire after the first week. Egypt's proposal also includes a timeline for the release of all hostages in exchange for a timeline for Israel's full withdrawal from Gaza, backed by US guarantees.

A Hamas official told Reuters that "several proposals are being discussed with the mediators to bridge the gap and to resume negotiations to reach common ground that would pave the way to start the second phase of the agreement".

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said the country’s air-defense system had intercepted multiple missiles over Israel on Monday that had been launched from Gaza and Yemen. The strikes did not cause any casualties, according to IDF. In response, the Israeli military launched multiple airstrikes on targets in Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza.

In southern Gaza, on Monday, Israeli infantry and armored units continued the encirclement of Rafah’s Tel Sultan neighborhood. IDF’s announcement on Monday stated that it killed about 50 Hamas fighters.

Israel announced the resumption of military operations to force Hamas to release the remaining hostages they are holding in Gaza. Gaza health officials reported Israel has killed nearly 700 Palestinians, including at least 400 women and children since it resumed military operations on Gaza.
