According to Israeli media, an unnamed US official confirmed that the next negotiations on a new ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas will be in Doha, instead of continuing to be held in Cairo after many days of tense dialogue.

The source said that US Special Envoy for the Middle East Brett McGurk has arrived in Qatar to participate in the new round of negotiations. Meanwhile, some Israeli sources said Israel’s negotiating delegation was preparing to leave for Doha to participate in discussions on Wednesday.

It’s not clear whether Hamas representatives will participate in the Doha round of talks. The representation of Egyptian, American ,and Israeli mediators has not been announced.

The talks in Cairo made no progress. Israel insisted on keeping eight positions along the Philadelphi corridor and central Gaza’s Netzarim corridor, while Egypt and Hamas strongly opposed the demand.

Meanwhile, cross-border fighting continues between the Israeli army and Hezbollah in Lebanon, although the frequency of cross-border attacks by both sides decreased in the past two days.
