(VOVWORLD) - German Foreign Minister Annalena Barbock on Monday announced an additional 200 million euros (217 million USD) to support Ukrainians through their third winter of conflict.
The money will be used so that homes near the front line without power supplies can also receive fuel and Ukrainians can be provided with essentials such as blankets or warm winter coats to protect them from the low temperatures, Barbock said in a meeting with her Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha in Kiyv.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has signed an agreement with the World Bank totaling nearly 600 million USD under the "Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Enterprise" (RISE) project, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced on Monday. The project is aimed at supporting small and medium-sized businesses, green initiatives, and digitalization, according to his post on Telegram.
Shmyhal said the project will run until 2027, with total funding expected to exceed 1 billion USD. He didn’t clarify if the funds are a loan or a grant.
