At a ceremony held in Hanoi on Wednesday to announce two new initiatives aimed at bolstering AI entrepreneurship and digital literacy in Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said these initiatives will promote Vietnam's innovative startup ecosystem in strategic technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI).

“AI is one of the 11 strategic technology sectors and strategic products recently announced by the Prime Minister. The partnership is a step toward concretizing Politburo Resolution No.57 on prioritizing research, training, incubation, and application of AI as part of national breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation,” said Mr. Dung.

150 startups will likely benefit from two new innovative Google for Startups programs to develop AI skills and build innovative GenAI solutions. The “AI Bootcamp” and “AI Solutions Lab” will build on the success of Google’s "Build for the AI Future" initiative to bolster Vietnam’s AI startup ecosystem.

A Google AI Essentials course in Vietnamese was announced, which will introduce generative AI tools, prompt techniques, and responsible AI usage.

Marc Woo, Managing Director for Vietnam of Google Asia Pacific, said, “To equip the Vietnamese with even more AI knowledge this year, we’re doubling down on our commitment. We're making AI Essentials more accessible to Vietnamese users. Anyone can take the course in Vietnamese. We’ve localized it to cater to Vietnamese users. And besides supporting the workforce, we're very focused on empowering startups and developers.”

Google for Startups AI Bootcamp 2025, a three-day bootcamp in Ho Chi Minh City, will help 100 startups or 200 developers gain skills in applying Google's latest AI capabilities, and give them the opportunity to learn from Google experts and engineers how to kickstart GenAI solutions, do rapid prototyping and MVP development, and how to prepare and polish pitches.

The four-day Google for Startups AI Solutions Lab 2025 will be hosted in partnership with the Da Nang Semiconductor & AI Center to teach 50 startups to build GenAI solutions that address local challenges.
