Speaking at Tuesday’s Government meeting on railway development projects, the PM stressed that the selection process must balance the interests of all stakeholders and prevent corruption and group interests.

He emphasized that procedures, methodologies, and decisions must be transparent, with feasible policy proposals and comprehensive impact assessments for each option.

PM Chinh set March 2026 as the deadline for completing the pre-feasibility study of the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong railway project. He also urged faster construction of the Kim Ma underground section of the Nhon–Hanoi Railway Station metro line to keep it on schedule.

In addition, he directed the Ministry of Finance to mobilize resources, including both state and private capital, to develop a synchronized urban railway system linked to major transport hubs.
