India and Pakistan's diplomatic ties is being challenged by consecutive incidents.

India’s decision is believed to be in retaliation for the Pakistani High Commissioner in India Abdul Basit’s consultation with Kashmir leaders on the talks, despite New Delhi’s protests. The talks are scheduled to be held in Islamabad by August 25, to discuss methods to boost bilateral relations and restart their official dialogue. Dialogue between India and Pakistan was suspended after a terrorist attack in Mumbai killed 170 people in 2008. India’s authorities condemned a Pakistani insurgent group for conducting the attack, although Islamabad denied it.
