Ambassador Thành led a Vietnamese mission on Sunday to attend the Ethnic Festival and 70th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party in Geneva as an honorary guest. Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Thành said Vietnam has full sovereignty over the Hoàng Sa and Trường Sa archipelagos and that Vietnam will use all peaceful means under international law, including the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, to resolve the current East Sea conflict while ensuring regional peace and stability.
International friends thanked the Vietnamese Ambassador for his explanation which helped them better understand the current situation in the East Sea. Earlier, European friendship associations with Vietnam released a joint statement protesting China's infringement of Vietnam’s Exclusive Economic Zone and demanding that China immediately stop threatening Vietnam and regional peace and stability. The Swiss-Vietnamese Association opened a pavilion to present Vietnam’s culture, land, and people to international friends.
