(VOVWORLD) - The 2025 International Tea Festival opened in Lam Dong province on Friday. This is the first time Vietnam has hosted the festival.

Taking place from December 5–7 across Da Lat, Bao Loc, and major tea-growing regions of Lam Dong province, the festival features activities including an international tea fair and exhibition, a conference on sustainable development of the tea industry, tea diplomacy events, a street festival, a concert, and a vibrant tea culture space.
Highlights include a mass tea-brewing performance by 1,111 tea artisans, an exhibition of 1,000 ancient tea trees, and the participation of 80 beauty ambassadors from tea-famous nations.

In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son said: "To ensure that the Vietnamese tea industry develops sustainably in a green, clean, high-quality, and high-value direction, ministries, sectors, and localities including Lam Dong province need to continue restructuring the tea industry and effectively implement the Master Plan for the Development of Key Industrial Crops through 2030."

"This includes expanding large-scale production, strengthening value-chain linkages, applying advanced technologies, promoting deep processing, and diversifying products to meet international standards. It also involves developing organic and circular production models, maximizing multi-value benefits, and integrating tea cultivation with culture, tourism, and related services," said Mr. Son.

On this occasion, the Festival Organizing Committee donated 114,000 USD to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province to support the province's social society efforts and sustainable development.
