Iran greenlights IAEA to restore nuclear surveillance

(VOVWORLD) - Iran has agreed to allow an International Atomic Energy Agency technical team to come to Tehran in the coming days to discuss restoring camera surveillance at nuclear sites, the head of the UN nuclear watchdog said Wednesday.

Rafael Mariano Grossi, speaking to reporters in Washington, said that during his visit there last week, Iranian officials agreed to allow an IAEA technical team to come to discuss resuming access to and monitoring of nuclear sites, among other issues.

According to Grossi, it is far more important for Iran and the US to find a peaceful resolution to the nuclear issue than to simply send UN nuclear monitors to Iran for oversight.
