Iran reiterates respect of nuclear deal as long as its interests are preserved

(VOVWORLD) - Iran will continue to respect its nuclear agreement with world powers as long as its interests are preserved, President Hassan said on Tuesday during a speech in Switzerland as part of his tour of Europe to discuss the 2015 nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action between Iran and the P5+1 group.

The US withdrew in May from the nuclear agreement and re-imposed sanctions that had been lifted.

Iran has asked European countries to consider economic measures to offset the renewed US sanctions.

European signatories to the deal are trying to save the agreement as the best hope of preventing Iran from developing nuclear bombs. But they warn that if Iran doesn’t adhere to the agreement, they will do like the US.
