The consulate where Khashoggi was killed had two wells and a gas and wood floor furnace that could reach a heat of over 1,000 degrees, destroying any DNA traces, according to the report. Footage from the report shown on Turkish televisions showed a man believed to be a Khashoggi impersonator walking alongside a man police say is the “local cooperator” in the case. 
Mr Khashoggi was last seen entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2nd, to pick up paperwork that would allow him to marry his Turkish fiancée. Saudi Arabia later admitted that Khashoggi was killed in the consulate, but didn’t know where his body was. After an investigation, 21 Saudi individuals who are believed to have been involved in Khashoggi's death were detained. Turkey, however, insists that the killing was planned days in advance and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was ultimately responsible for the murder.
