At the meeting in Quang Ninh province on Thursday, the provincial leader expressed his impression of Bhutan's development philosophy based on the Gross National Happiness Index, which he said is one of the similarities with Vietnam and Quang Ninh in particular.

Quang Ninh determines that the task of economic development must be carried out in parallel with improving the quality of people's lives, so that every citizen can be prosperous and happy, enjoy the comprehensive achievements of development, "no one is left behind". The Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee expressed wishes to cooperate with Bhutan in green energy, tourism, trade and services.

Impressed by the rapid development of Vietnam and Quang Ninh, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck said that Bhutan can learn a lot about economic management methods and solutions to rapid and sustainable growth in a short time-frame. The King of Bhutan said he hopes that Bhutanese and Vietnamese enterprises will cooperate for mutual development.
