Lim Festival officially recognized as national intangible cultural heritage

(VOVWORLD) - The 2026 Lim Festival opened on Saturday in Bac Ninh province, alongside a ceremony marking the official recognition of the Lim Festival as a national intangible cultural heritage.

This year’s Lim Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday, the 12th and 13th days of the first lunar month, with the participation of 13 villages.

Quan Ho folk singing is at the heart of the festival, serving as a living cultural space where this treasured tradition is preserved and showcased. Recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, Quan Ho features love duet singing between male and female performers.

Festival activities also extend to nearby villages, where visitors can enjoy Quan Ho performances on boats as well as at communal houses, pagodas, and the homes of folk artisans.
