(VOVWORLD) -As the Lunar New Year (Tet) is just one week away, the Labor Federation of Viet Yen town, Bac Giang province, on Sunday organized Tet-themed activities for workers.
Participants wrapped banh chung (square sticky rice cakes), displayed trays of five fruits, cleaned the environment, and cooked New Year's Eve meals. Organizers presented 300 gifts to workers living in the boarding houses in Viet Yen.
At the "Tet Reunion" program organized by the Tra Vinh Provincial Labor Federation last week at the campus of Tra Vinh Vocational College, organizers supported union members, workers, and laborers with 2,000 shopping vouchers and presented 500 gifts to people in difficult circumstances.
Giang Thi Thanh Nga, a worker at CY Vina Tra Vinh Company Limited, told VOV that “The essential items we need for Tet such as fish sauce, salt, sugar, MSG, etc. are all subsidized, so the prices are lower than in the market. Also today, I received a Tet gift, I feel so happy.”
Nam Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, the Provincial Labor Federation and the Trade Union of Nam Dinh Industrial Parks presented 60 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances as part of the program “Tet Reunion-Spring of Gratitude to the Party” held on Sunday at Bao Minh Industrial Park.
