According to the mayor, the curfew and other police efforts have been largely successful in protecting shops, restaurants, businesses, and residential communities from bad actors who show no concern for the immigrant community.
She said the curfew will end on Tuesday but will be reinstated if necessary, adding her priority continues to be ensuring the safety and stability of LA’s downtown neighborhoods.
The curfew was imposed earlier this month after raids and arrests targeting undocumented immigrants and carried out by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) triggered violent protests.
