Lunar New Year celebrated in US, Canada
(VOVWORLD) - The Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN hosted a Lunar New Year celebration on Sunday attended by 500 guests, including members of the Vietnamese community and American friends from New York and neighboring areas.

Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Mission, said 2025 marks 80 years of national independence and 50 years of national reunification.
Emphasizing national unity, he called on the Vietnamese community in the US to remain united and contribute to Vietnam's growth, and strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the US.

The same day, the Canada-Vietnam Cultural and Educational Council (CVCEC) and students of several universities in Canada welcomed the Lunar New Year 2025 with an ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) show, cultural exchanges, and an introduction of Vietnamese Tet traditions.
CVCEC founder and CEO Trang Phan said that the council focuses on creating educational materials highlighting Vietnamese culture. Tet-themed resources developed by the council ranked among the most downloaded globally, helping children worldwide better understand Vietnam’s cultural heritage, she said.
