(VOVworld) - Colombia’s peace deal between the government and
the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC)
is a model for war-torn countries like Syria, Yemen and South Sudan, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said when he accepted the Nobel Peace Prize on Saturday on Oslo, Norway.

He noted that the deal signed on November 24 this year to end five decades of conflict is a “model for the resolution of armed conflicts that have yet to be resolved around the world”. All wars, through perseverance, may become possible."
The revised peace deal was adopted by President Santos and FARC supreme leader Rogrigo Londono to replace the initial peace deal that was rejected by Colombians in a referendum in early October. The revised deal did not undergo a referendum.
