At a meeting with the media on Thursday, the Deputy Prime Minister reviewed milestones in Vietnam’s external relations in terms of development, security, and status. Vietnam has practically promoted the strategic partnership with 14 countries and comprehensive partnership with 11 countries.
Mr. Minh said Vietnam had wisely resolved issues relating to its sovereignty in the East Sea and actively provided the public with information about national defense. “In 2015 the world economic situation is expected to see great changes which could impact on Vietnam’s economic development and security. The external relations sector will have to continue promoting the results achieved last year to reach new targets. The media’s cooperation with the diplomatic sector will be important in this process.”
On behalf of media agencies, General Director of the Vietnam News Agency Nguyen Duc Loi said that the media will always work closely with the diplomatic sector. He suggested that the Foreign Ministry continued to collaborate with the media to create more external relations opportunities.
