(VOVworld) – The Mekong River Delta should be more active in promotion and advertising activities if it wants to boost investment, according to yesterday’s conference in Tien Giang province on promoting Mekong Investment-Trade-Tourism.

The event, called “Mekong River Delta Economic Cooperation Forum-Tien Giang Province 2012”, solicited investment funds of more than 6 billion USD for 137 projects. Bui Ngoc Suong, Deputy Director of the Steering Committee for the Southwest Region, said that in the future, the region will try to continue to be the country’s key food and seafood producing zone. Duong added ‘We will continue to seek investment selectively with a focus on projects that tap our agriculture and aquaculture advantages. We will also continue administrative reforms and incentives for investors.’
