(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of National Defense on Saturday presented the results of DNA analysis on the remains of six fallen martyrs and returned them to their families.

Ms. Le Thi Dat from Hanoi, a relative of one of the six martyrs, told the event: "After national liberation, we had no news of him and went to battlefields to look for him several times. Thanks to the People’s Army, we’re finally reunited. I’m happy and truly grateful for that. We just want to bring him home."
Since 2013, the Military Institute of Forensic Medicine has identified nearly 500 remains of fallen soldiers and returned them to their families, which account for nearly 50% of all identified cases.
