(VOVworld)_ Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Sinh Hung held a reception for Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon in Hanoi on Saturday.

Chairman Hung affirmed Vietnam has actively participated in the UN’s forums and activities for a peaceful and prosperous world and hoped to receive UN's continuous support for Vietnam's national development. He also briefed the guest on a number of key contents in the recently-passed Constitution concerning human rights, citizen rights, and directions for national development and integration. The UN Secretary General appreciated the contributions made by Vietnam, and the NA in particular to developing important solutions to realise sustainable development goals and climate change adaptation. He affirmed the UN’s support for Vietnam in implementing the millennium development goals and commitments in the Hanoi Declaration adopted at the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly.
