(VOVworld) – The National Assembly Standing Committee on Thursday discussed economic restructuring and growth models to improve economic competitiveness. National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung called for a constant approach in restructuring to improve productivity and efficiency. Head of the Finance and Budget Committee, Phung Quoc Hien, said that the restructuring proposal has to ensure sustainable economic growth. Head of Social Issues Committee Truong Thi Mai said the economic restructuring proposal has to identify necessary personnel and resources. The proposal will be finalized shortly after consultation session with development partners. Earlie the same day, the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed a project on restructuring the economy at its ongoing 13^th session. The project identifies strong and weak points of the national economy and works out some measures to restructure it. Sectors with fast-changing technologies will be given a boost. The project designates 7 groups of sectors for middle and long-term development.
