(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on Sunday, concluding a six-day official visit to the Republic of Korea and India – Vietnam’s important strategic partners in Asia.

Chairman Hue’s visit affirmed Vietnam’s open foreign policy of diversification and multilateralisation, proactiveness, and responsibility on the part of the Vietnamese Party and State, thus improving Vietnam’s status in the region and the world.
It also promoted parliamentary diplomacy in relations with the Republic of Korea and India, strengthened political trust with senior leaders of the Korean and Indian parliaments, and shared experience on parliamentary activities and economic recovery and development following the COVID-19 pandemic.

During Mr. Hue’s trip, Korean and Indian businesses gave Vietnam funding, vaccines, medical supplies, and materials for producing COVID-19 treatment drugs.
Before flying back to Vietnam, Chairman Hue met with Indian President Ram Nath Kovind. The two leaders agreed to tighten cooperation and further support each other at regional and global forums.
They promised to back the settlement of disputes via peaceful means in accordance with international laws, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, for regional and global peace, cooperation, stability, and development.
