National Assembly Standing Committee discusses revised Land Law
(VOV) – The National Assembly Standing Committee on Wednesday discussed the revised Land Law at its closing 17th session.
The participants agreed to continue with public land-ownership saying that land is the result of reclamation and the building-up by many generations of Vietnamese people. Phung Quoc Hien, Chairman of the National Assembly Finance and Budget Committee, proposed to clarify the rights of land users and the State as land-ownership representative and uniform management of the land. Regarding regulations on land reclamation, Chairman of the National Assembly Law Committee, Phan Trung Ly, said: "Land has been evicted mainly for national defense, security purposes, and for public benefit, but there are some cases for violating land related law, terminating the land use right or voluntary return of land. So, the jurisdiction and procedures of land eviction differ from case to case. I think we should determine the specific characteristics of each case".
The 17th of National Assembly Standing Committee, which took place between the 9th to 17th April, focused on preparations for the 5th session of the 13th National Assembly.
