NATO's 28 foreign and defense ministers are meeting in Brussels to prepare the NATO summit in the US next month. Speaking at the opening ceremony yesterday, NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said he saw an "emerging agreement" among the alliance's members about the role they will play in Afghanistan once that country's forces take charge of security. The two-day meeting focuses on coalition force’s mission in Afghanistan to help the Afghan government maintain Security after 2014. The meeting also discusses new approach to maintain NATO military capabilities given member countries defense budget cuts. Member countries’ contributions to the organization’s missile defense shield are also high on the agenda.
