No consensus in EU talks on COVID economic recovery fund
(VOVWORLD) - There was no consensus among EU leaders on a proposed 750-billion-euro recovery fund to lift the bloc’s economies from a recession triggered by the coronavirus pandemic.

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said he rejected the current proposal for a mass economic stimulus to help lift EU economies from recession brought by the coronavirus pandemic.
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte insisted that money should not be paid out as grants, and that any funds given to EU countries should be tied to reforms taking place in the country.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel acknowleged the “very wide differences” that still exist among European leaders over the response to the crisis generated by Covid-19.
