(VOVworld) - The leaders of the “Normandy Four” have reaffirmed their commitment to a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine, and the withdrawal without delay of heavy weapons.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko emphasized the need to abide by the Minsk II agreement in 2016, including preparations for local elections in Donbass (Ukraine) in early 2017.
This is the first meeting of the Normandy Four since their 2-hour-talk in Paris on October 2nd. There will be another meeting on peace process in February.
