In a statement carried by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korea's foreign ministry said that the newest UN sanctions are an 'act of war' and will lead to a complete economic blockade.

The United Nations Security Council slapped new sanctions on North Korea on Sunday following recent ballistic missile tests.

The latest sanctions are expected to cut North Korea's foreign currency revenue from exports by approximately 250 million USD a year, about 10 percent of its annual export revenue. A further reduction of 500,000 barrels of petroleum supplied to North Korea is about 90 percent of its annual supply.
