Northern mountainous provinces urged for flood countermeasures
(VOVWORLD) - The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control has just sent an urgent dispatch to the northern mountainous provinces of Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, and Ha Giang, asking for countermeasures against natural disasters.

The provinces were urged find solutions to fight flash floods and landslides, prepare plans for timely response, arrange forces and supplies on the spot to ensure safety for people, especially the evacuation and relocation of people in high-risk areas.
The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control also urged localities to intensify dissemination of information at grassroots level and instruct locals necessary skills to cope with heavy rain, floods, flash floods, and landslides to minimize losses.
