(VOVworld) – 600 overseas Vietnamese gathered at a meeting in Ho Chi Minh city on Monday to welcome the upcoming Lunar New Year. The annual event is to update overseas Vietnamese with current national situation. It has bridged Vietnamese people and entrepreneurs living around the world to join hands for the national socio-economic development. Mrs. Truong Thi Kim Anh is a French Vietnamese: Vietnamese Tet is distinctive from any other new year celebration in the world and we miss Tet so much. The Tet atmosphere is jubilant and people are happy to reunite with their families and get lucky money. My foreign friends really like my story about Vietnamese Tet. To me, it’s a good luck to enjoy Tet in hometown. I always come back Vietnam for Tet whenever I can.

Vietnam currently has 3.500 firms sourced from overseas Vietnamese with total registered capital of 8.4 billion USD. Remittances last year hit 10 billion USD, 4.1 billion USD of which is in Ho Chi Minh city alone.
