(VOVWORLD) - The Palestinian Authority has expressed its concern over Israeli Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu’s announcement of his government’s call for strengthening settlements in the West Bank.

Spokesman for the Palestinian Presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said that settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, would affect regional situation. He called on the US government “to turn its words into deeds since it is committed to the two-state solution, without which there will be no stability in the region."
On Wednesday the new government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu finalized its policy orientation, which prioritizes the expansion of resettlements in the West Bank.
