(VOVWORLD) - The Party Central Committee has identified the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress as the highest goal of the entire Party, the people, and the army in 2025, said Party General Secretary and President To Lam at the closing ceremony of the 10th plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee on Friday.

This task will be carried out with the highest determination, greatest efforts, resolute actions, most effective solutions, and all resources. Vietnam aims to meet or exceed most of the key targets set by the 13th National Party Congress for the 2021-2025 period.

The Party Central Committee requested that the entire political system, especially the government, heads of ministries, sectors, and localities, adopt comprehensive and resolute solutions, to achieve the targets, especially the GDP target, and to create momentum for the coming years, Mr. Lam said.

“Ensuring high economic growth must go hands in hands with protecting the environment, guaranteeing social welfare, and taking the best care of people's lives, particularly in localities severely affected by typhoon Yagi. It is essential to firmly ensure national defense and security, enhance the effectiveness of foreign affairs, and continuously elevate Vietnam's position and contributions to peace and stability in the region and the world.”

General Secretary and President To Lam stated that the Party Central Committee basically reached a consensus on the key contents of draft documents, personnel work, and several specific issues. He said the Committee identified 5 groups of major issues for further refinement of the documents to be presented at the 14th National Party Congress.

The Party Central Committee emphasized the need to make stronger breakthroughs in development institutions, remove bottlenecks and barriers, take the people and businesses as the center, mobilize and unlock both internal and external resources, and develop science and technology for national socio-economic and cultural development and the improvement of the people’s material and emotional lives.

Priority will be given to rigorously renovating organizational and cadre work and building comprehensive socio-economic infrastructure, the top leader said.

Greater efforts will be made to build a socialist model for Vietnam, with an emphasis on developing the socialist citizenry as a foundation for creating a socialist society as outlined in the Party's Platform. It is crucial to promote socio-economic development, environmental protection, three strategic breakthroughs, Party building, and cultural development; enhance national defense and security; and advance foreign affairs and international integration, Party leader and President Lam said.

It is essential to maintain independence and self-reliance, ensure the highest national interests based on the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, and firmly protect the socialist Fatherland early and from afar. Importance is attached to resolutely and persistently safeguarding national independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, including Vietnam’s seas, islands, and airspace.

The Party Central Committee agreed to continue streamlining the apparatus of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and  political-social organizations. It also agreed that there would be no amendments and supplements to the Party’s statute at the 14th National Party Congress.
