(VOVWORLD) - The Israeli military launched airstrikes against Hezbollah military targets in southern Lebanon, according to Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday.

Its targets included Hezbollah’s weapons depot, a rocket launcher used in a previous attack, and other buildings in Majdal Zoun, Jebbayn and Blida.
In response, Hezbollah claimed on Friday that it had bombed a major air and missile defense base in northern Israel, about 12 km from the Lebanon border.
US envoy to Middle East Amos Hochstein is visiting Israel on Monday to seek ways to de-escalate tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border areas, as part of the diplomacy he’s been carrying out for months.
