Party chief: the more time passes, the more visible the significance of August Revolution becomes

(VOVWORLD) -  “The more time passes, we gain more context to understand the significance of the 1945 August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam,” said Party leader To Lam at gathering in Hanoi on Thursday with revolutionary war veterans, pre-uprising veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, generals and Heroes of the Armed Forces.

General Secretary To Lam said the sacrifices made by national contributors and the delegates attending the meeting embrace immense significance for the Vietnamese people and the nation. He said in today’s time of peace, many of the delegates, though retired, continue to uphold the noble spirit of Uncle Ho's soldiers embracing a strong determination to move forward and serve as a strong source of support and inspiration for younger generations.

“The more time passes, the more opportunities we have to reflect on and fully appreciate the great significance of the 1945 August Revolution and the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945. This deepens our pride and strengthens our confidence in the wise leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh; the bravery, staunch spirit, and determination of the whole nation to achieve the goals of national independence, peace and reunification,” said the Party chief.

The General Secretary praised the delegates for their contribution to national socio-economic development. He reiterated that the Party and State always value the strength of national unity, considering it a vital internal force to drive Vietnam’s progress toward prosperity.
