Party General Secretary To Lam holds phone talks with Cambodian People’s Party President Hun Sen

(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary To Lam held a telephone conversation with President of the Cambodian People’s Party Hun Sen on Thursday at Cambodia’s request, to discuss measures to further strengthen relations between the two Parties and the two countries.

During the talks, Party General Secretary To Lam and President of the Cambodian People’s Party Hun Sen agreed to continue enhancing relations between the two Parties and States, strengthening political trust, and promoting exchanges of high-level visits as well as visits between ministries, sectors, and localities of Vietnam and Cambodia.

They also agreed to make full use of existing cooperation mechanisms and other high-level agreements and maintain timely information sharing and mutual consultation on global and regional issues and issues relating to bilateral ties, thereby contributing to advancing the relationship between the two Parties and two countries in a more substantive manner in the new period.

Party General Secretary To Lam welcomed the positive progress made by Cambodia and Thailand regarding their border issue.

For his part, President of the Cambodia People’s Party Hun Sen thanked Party General Secretary To Lam for the invitation and confirmed that he will attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

He praised the profound significance of the event, emphasizing that the 80th anniversary is a testament to the great national unity, heroic and staunch spirit of the Vietnamese people in their struggles for national independence.
