Party leader and President receives foreign ambassadors presenting credentials

(VOVWORLD) -General Secretary and President To Lam received ambassadors of Argentina, Algeria, Germany, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Sweden, who presented their credentials in a ceremony on Hanoi on Monday.

At a meeting with Argentine Ambassador Marcos Antonio Bednarski, General Secretary and President Lam affirmed that Vietnam always values and wishes to further traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Argentina, Vietnam's important partner in Latin America. He suggested that the ambassador coordinate closely with Vietnam to bolster the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Argentina.

Receiving Algerian Ambassador Sofiane Chaib, General Secretary and President Lam emphasized that Vietnam values the traditional relations and friendly cooperation with Algeria. He called on the ambassador to actively promote and elevate the bilateral relationship and actively support each other in multilateral and international forums.

Meeting German Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth, General Secretary and President Lam affirmed that the State and Government of Vietnam always attach importance to strengthening the strategic partnership with Germany. He thanked and asked the German Government and the EU to amplify their support for resolving disputes in the East Sea by peaceful means, on the basis of international law. The Vietnamese top leader proposed that the two sides continue to exchange delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones, and effectively expedite dialogue mechanisms, and effectively tap the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

At a reception for DPRK Ambassador Ri Sung Guk, General Secretary and President Lam expected to cooperate more closely with Pyongyang in promoting cooperative relations between the two countries. He affirmed Vietnam’s readiness to contribute to peace, stability, cooperation and development on the Korean Peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region.

Congratulating Swedish Ambassador Johan Ndisi on his assignment in Vietnam, General Secretary and President Lam said he hopes that the two sides will boost people-to-people exchanges through cooperation in education, culture and art, sports, and travel. The top leader said that the two sides have much potential to further cooperation in trade, investment, education and training, science and technology.
