Party leader chairs Central Military Commission meeting

(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary To Lam, who is also Secretary of the Central Military Commission, on Monday chaired the 12th meeting of the Central Military Commission.

Concluding the meeting, which was attended by President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, General Secretary Lam congratulated the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and officers and soldiers for successfully organizing celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and 35 years of the All-People Defense Festival (December 22).

He requested the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to lead the entire army to be proactive and sensitive, forecast and properly assess the situation, and well fulfill its function of advising the Party and the State to flexibly and successfully handle situations, not to be passive or surprised, and be determined to maintain a proactive position in the face of all changes.

General Secretary Lam stressed the need to “continue to promote the core role of the army in building the all-people national defense posture, actively innovate, improve the effectiveness of building a politically strong army, and improve the effectiveness of international integration work and external defense affairs.”
