In a statement released after the signing of the deal, Nvidia expressed “confidence in the country’s bright artificial intelligence future.” In particular, it said it planned to expand its partnerships with Vietnam’s top tech firms and support the country in training talent for developing AI and digital infrastructure.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was quoted in the statement as praising Vietnam’s “vibrant ecosystem of researchers, startups, and enterprise organizations.” Huang said that his firm was committed to investing in Vietnam and making the country its “second home.”

Meanwhile, the website opengovasia.com of Singapore reported that the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) has unveiled the formation of Vietnam’s AI Ethics Committee.

Professor Yoshua Bengio, who is the founder of the AI research institute Mila, Canada, said that the establishment of the committee was a significant step towards ensuring that Vietnam’s AI future adheres to global standards of transparency, accountability, and societal benefit.

He praised the country’s effort to take an ethical approach to AI development, which he believes is essential for fostering public trust and confidence in the technology.

As the global landscape continues to evolve, Vietnam’s approach to AI ethics may serve as a model for other nations looking to navigate the complexities of this transformative technology, the website said.
